At least two people were Tuesday killed in separate crime incidents in Nairobi.
In the first incident reported to police, the body of one Tobias Oyo, 45 was found on the roadside with visible stab wounds on the head and both sides of his chest in Huruma, Nairobi.
Oyo had left his house at 5 am to work when he was confronted by four men armed with knives and crude weapons.
According to police, the gang was on a robbery spree targeting pedestrians headed for work.
It is suspected the man resisted their orders prompting them to stab him.
The gang robbed him of his mobile phone before stabbing him to death.
Police who visited the scene said they found Sh2,300 intact in the deceased’s trousers.
A review of security cameras at the scene showed the four men escape towards the Mathere River direction after the incident.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
In the Mwiki area, the body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a quarry after the murder.
A rider found the body dumped near the quarry along Mwiki Infinity Road.
Police said they found the body with multiple injuries on the head and preliminary investigations indicate that, the deceased could have been killed elsewhere before being dumped at the scene.
Police are investigating the murder. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
No arrests have been made over the murder incidents.
Police advise victims of robberies to always cooperate with their attackers for their safety.
Security officers in the city are also conducting operations to address cases where motorcycle riders are reportedly involved in crimes.
The riders have been linked to cases of mobile phone snatching and murder.
Dozens of riders have been arrested and more than 300 mobile phones believed to have been stolen have been recovered in the operation, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said.
