In Nyeri, the police have presented in court a wanted individual notorious for engaging in violent robberies, drug dealing, muggings, and phone theft. The suspect, Peter Ndiritu Ndirangu, also known as Kimaitho and aged 35, was apprehended during a security operation conducted by patrol officers in the Weitemere area yesterday.

His arrest followed tips from concerned citizens who alerted the authorities about his presence in the locality, prompting an intensive search that led to his capture from his hiding place. During the apprehension, law enforcement officers discovered 12 sachets of heroin, 9 rolls of cannabis, a machete, and two kitchen knives concealed on his person.
Peter Ndirangu, who has a history of spending several years in various correctional facilities, has been linked to numerous assaults reported in Weitemere, Majengo, Kiawara, and Blue Valley areas of Nyeri since his release from prison in December 2023.
Due to his criminal background, the former convict has been remanded at King'ong'o prison without the possibility of bail.
