Alleged Burglar Faces Vigilante Justice in Siaya, Resulting in Fatal Consequences

 

Angry Locals in Odiedo Estate, Karapul Sub-County, Siaya, Resort to Vigilante Justice, Lynching a Suspected Burglar Caught in the Act of Breaking into a House. The Disturbing Incident Occurred at Approximately 3:58 am, Unfolding as a Tenant, a Bodaboda Operator in the Vicinity, Spotted the Intruder.

After promptly raising the alarm, the tenant, aided by colleagues, confronted the suspected burglar outside the gate during his attempted escape. In the ensuing scuffle to apprehend him, the suspect turned aggressive, wielding a panga and injuring three individuals.

Responding to the commotion, members of the public subjected the suspect to mob justice, resulting in his death. The injured parties were swiftly transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Cleti Kemboi, Siaya County Police Boss, confirmed police presence at the scene, where a blood-stained panga and a torch were recovered during the investigation.

The deceased's body has been moved to Siaya County Referral Mortuary, awaiting identification and autopsy procedures.
